The purpose of the State Cup of Champions is to showcase adult-level soccer in the state of Massachusetts by bringing together the best teams from each MASS-affiliated league. The individual leagues may choose the teams that best represent their membership. Strong consideration will be given to teams that exercise fair play, show exemplary sporting conduct, and compete in the highest spirit of the game.

Last year Fidjos Terra won the cup by beating MOA 2-0in the final. This past year NELASA dominance was even more apparent with the last 4 teams all being from NELASA. Alianca CV, Fidjos Terra, Strela Negra were all amongst the final four teams in the completion. Emigrantes and Strela Negra met with in the final which was disputed on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Charlestown High School and Emigrantes were crowned Mass State Cup Champions by defeating Strela Negra 2-0.
